Well, I'm posting from Panera, which also happens to be where I am trying to do my homework. Why you ask? Because the basement is now off limits and my wireless connection is somewhere down there - unplugged.
Here are the main points:
There is black mold down there. (It looks black, I don't know if it's actually THE black mold.)
I have learned about adjusters and mitigation teams and mold doctors and blah, blah, blah...
I am actively holding my hands over my ears with my eyes closed and singing something along the lines of "la la la la". I will stop when somebody tells me something fantastic, like "it's all taken care of and we've decided to cover all of it".
I will post again when we are back up at the house.
Moral of the story (i.e. What I learned from this valuable life experience): DON'T DO LAUNDRY. BAD THINGS HAPPEN.
Back soon.

Is it behind sheetrock?
No. There's a subfloor and there was a subfloor on top of that. Apparently water got caught between the two and they removed the flooring and the top sub floor, but there's still mold on the bottom subfloor. No wall invlovement that I'm aware of yet. Waiting for mold doctor or something to come check it out. (As a sidenote - Colorado is weird because it has interesting dirt, ground, whatever. Anyway, we don't have a foundation because there is too much shifting and it will damage your house. Instead, they build your house up a few feet and so there's a subfloor with a crawl space underneath. Pretty freaky. Mike had to crawl under there for something once and the thought of crawling underneath 3 floors of house is too much for me!)
I never knew laundry could be so evil!
Hello. This post is likeable, and your blog is very interesting, congratulations :-). I will add in my blogroll =). If possible gives a last there on my blog, it is about the Computador, I hope you enjoy. The address is http://computador-brasil.blogspot.com. A hug.
Okay, so I'm wondering - Have you all been consumed by the infamous Black Mold? Too depressed to blog because the insurance won't cover it? In Cancun because the insurance company was over generous? You are missed......
