A Friend-ly Observation

One of the most painful parts of my education is that we are required to watch video tape of ourselves doing various tasks and turn in self evaluations.

OMG

Last semester, somehow, we were spared this particular humiliation.

I just completed a 10-12 minute presentation yesterday. So today I watched the video and completed that self-evaluation.

I am horrified by a variety of things - although I must honestly say that I did a very good job overall. But here's the other part. I am struck now by an on-going loop of a Friends episode where they are watching a high-school video of prom or something. Someone is shocked at how big Monica was and she defends herself by declaring that the camera adds 10 pounds. Chandler, of course, delivers then the line "How many cameras are ON you?"

How many cameras were on me!?

Ugh.

Meh.

I'm tired.

Getting back into the groove of school.

The kids have been just awesome lately - saying all kinds of funny things. None of which I can remember whenever I sit down to type. But seriously funny. I remember laughing.

I'm working like mad this week so I can enjoy SuperBowl Weekend. Somehow, we don't have an exam on Monday so I can actually enjoy. Whoa!

I will try to take pictures on the weekend.

That is all.

Obamicon.Me Rocks

Pondering

Is it wrong to eat toast with strawberry preserves for dinner? Because I thought it was delicious.

History

Thank you President Obama.

Thank you for running. Thank you for believing in all of us.

I believe in you.

Random thoughts...

Football yesterday rocked. Both teams I was rooting for won - and - huge bonus!!! One of my football boyfriends, Ben, is totally going to win the Super Bowl.

I start school again tomorrow. This means I will miss seeing the inauguration. Boo hiss.

President Obama is taking charge tomorrow! Woo-hoo!!!

I don't know how this will change in years to come... but 7 and 8 year old boys never made me want to claw my eyes out or drink all the liquor in the house. This is exactly the opposite reaction I have to the same aged girls. There's just something about the pitch of their voices... or something. OMG.

My dog smells.

I have been spoiled. I like being spoiled. I miss my 8 bazillion channels and daily coffee from Starbucks. Things could be much, much worse and they are not. For that I am grateful. This does not preclude my twinges of sadness about being spoiled.

I have no pictures today.

Bye now:)

A few pictures

It's been so long since I've regularly posted pictures that I've forgotten how to get them to go in the order I want. So these are backwards. And I'm far too lazy to re-do it.

Anyway, here's my little goofball:
Discovering the joys of the game boy.
Awwww. Cute.

The after picture of the kitchen.

The before picture when they were still trying to save the wood floors. Note, there were also red walls.

That's all for now:)

A short story to distract you (and me) from reality

This is a picture of a replica of the place where Mike and I got married.

When we got married my Mom gave us this and I thought, OMG what do I want with an ornament!? (Sorry Mom, I was 24 and kind of a twit.)

Now I look forward to getting it out every year and I am so glad we have this wonderful memento from our wedding day. In fact, I left it on the mantle all year last year, and I will leave it out again this year.

Because just seeing it makes me smile.

Thanks Mom.

A few Christmas pictures

These were taken on Christmas day. So much has happened since then. Mike and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. Mike's youngest sister got engaged. And then Mike lost his job and our whole world changed.
We will be okay. We are making plans and moving forward. There are worse things.
I saw a quote from Oprah's December magazine that I'm going to share:
Barn's burnt down -
Now I can see the moon.

Ch-ch-changes...

We are downsizing.

Note to friends & family: starting next Wednesday we won't have a land-line. So if you need to get us, call our cells. If you don't have 'em, leave a comment or email and I'll get them to you. We'll have unlimited text so text away. Minutes are limited so if you want to have a heart to heart - call after 7 pm or on the weekend! Or if you're on Sprint I think mobile to mobile is free. Yay! Otherwise, be prepared to be ignored. *wink*

I know I've been promising pictures... GET OFF MY BACK PEOPLE.

Sorry. I need to take some. I've just been bad about it. Preoccupied.

Later!
